NFL Week 8 Power Rankings: 1-32 Poll, Plus Unsung Role Players, Nonstarters From Every Team

Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season arrives after a "Monday Night Football" doubleheader that featured a clash between the top teams from last week’s Power Rankings: the Buccaneers and the Lions. Detroit emerged victorious after a thrilling Sunday of games, which included a remarkable 33-point fourth quarter comeback by the Broncos against the Giants.

How do these results impact the latest Power Rankings? We’ve recalibrated the NFL landscape heading into Week 8, acknowledging that six teams (Cardinals, Jaguars, Lions, Raiders, Rams, and Seahawks) are on bye. Beyond the 1-32 rankings, our NFL Nation reporters have pinpointed an often-overlooked nonstarter or role player from each team. Which players are significantly contributing despite limited playing time? Which nonstarters are stepping up due to injuries or roster changes?

Let’s dive into the rankings, beginning with our top team. Our panel of over 80 writers, editors, and TV personalities have assessed each NFL team, ranking them from 1 to 32.

1. Detroit Lions (5-2)

  • Week 7 Result: Defeated the Buccaneers 24-9
  • Previous Ranking: 2

Unsung Nonstarter/Role Player: WR Isaac TeSlaa

Although TeSlaa, a rookie, has seen limited action behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Kalif Raymond, he has showcased impressive plays when given the opportunity. Hailing from Michigan, he has three receptions for 54 yards, two of which were touchdowns. The first was a one-handed grab in the season opener against Green Bay, and the second was another one-handed catch against Chicago in Week 2. TeSlaa also recorded three receiving touchdowns during the preseason.

2. Indianapolis Colts (6-1)

  • Week 7 Result: Defeated the Chargers 38-24
  • Previous Ranking: 4

Unsung Nonstarter/Role Player: DE Tyquan Lewis

Lewis has never been a full-time starter in his eight seasons with the Colts, but his consistent production keeps him on the roster. Despite playing only 41% of the defensive snaps, Lewis has three sacks, four tackles for loss, and 10 QB pressures. His versatility allows him to play multiple roles and provide flexibility on the defensive line.

3. Philadelphia Eagles (5-2)

  • Week 7 Result: Defeated the Vikings 28-22
  • Previous Ranking: 5

Unsung Nonstarter/Role Player: DT Moro Ojomo

Ojomo, a seventh-round pick in the 2023 draft, plays behind Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis at defensive tackle. However, Ojomo has been crucial in compensating for Milton Williams’ departure. He has three sacks, five QB hits, and three tackles for loss.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-2)

  • Week 7 Result: Lost to the Lions 24-9
  • Previous Ranking: 1
